Why Ruach Dromit?
Complementary medical treatments play an increasingly significant role in helping patients cope with cancer. While complementary medical clinics are opening in different hospitals around Israel, institutionalized centers that offer such treatments tailored to cancer patients have yet to open in the Negev, where 15,000 patients reside (with 2,000 added each year). The cost of treatments not provided by institutional centers can run high, and lower income patients (a category to which a large percentage of Negev residents belong) cannot afford them. Ruach Dromit responds to this need – the the only organization of its kind operating in the Negev. Its sole aim is to ensure every cancer patient in the Negev receives the care they require at an affordable cost or even totally free of charge.
