The Director of Development will be responsible for all fundraising initiatives vis-a-vis donors in the Jewish world, including managing Friends of organizations, in the US, Canada, Mexico and several European capitals, developing their Boards and creating new relationships and funding opportunities.

Job Status: Full-Time. The organization’s offices are in Tel Aviv and the position is a hybrid one. Salary range: 16,000 – 20,000

DUTIES
- You will work directly with the CEO and Chair to build a modern and professional international resource development operation, and to increase funding throughout the Jewish world;
- You will significantly expand the existing donor base in the Jewish world, including developing existing but Friends of organizations;
- You will oversee all grant applications and all reports to funders and prospective funders in English;
- You will oversee all donor-related programming for overseas donors;
- You will plan and lead all overseas donor visits and missions;
- You will plan and prepare fundraising trips abroad;
- You will build and maintain relationships with the various departments and arms of AKIM throughout Israel and abroad.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- At least five years of proven experience raising major gifts and cultivating major donors;
- Proven managerial experience;
- English speaker with excellent English presentation and writing skills
- Hebrew speaker
- Excellent analytical and creative skills in developing cultivation strategies
- Self-starter with the confidence and maturity needed to join a driven team
- Able to meet multiple deadlines and work well under pressure
- A real understanding and familiarity with AKIM, on all the challenges it faces
- An academic degree
- Computer literacy: OFFICE, EXCEL, on-line grant reporting and submission, CRM
