The Development Manager will work with the CEO and COO to fund the implementation of the full annual work plan designed to drive growth and realize M²’s planned expansion throughout the Jewish world.

Reporting to the COO, the Development Manager will research and write proposals and reports, identify new funding prospects, support the cultivation and stewardship of funders, manage donor communications, oversee related data management, and facilitate cross organizational collaboration as it relates to these tasks.
As M²’s Development Manager, You Get To Fulfill the Following:
Grant Writing (40%)
- Write all grant reports and proposals, ensuring they are well-written, impact-driven, and tell a compelling story;
- Draft correspondence, LOIs, and other supporting documents adapting to the needs of each donor and prospect;
- Work with program and operations staff to capture relevant data that informs grant reports and other development material.
Foundation and Individual Donor Relations (40%)
- Identify, research, and cultivate new and lapsed funders, building a pipeline of new potential sources of institutional support;
- Research and prepare materials for donor meetings;
- Work with marketing staff to create and distribute communication materials for funders and prospects;
- Join CEO on calls with relevant stakeholders, taking notes and managing action items and next steps;
- Work with CEO to plan fundraising trips – including matching funders to projects, preparing documents, organizing meeting notes and following up with next steps;
- Plan and execute stakeholder gatherings and site visits by collaborating with the program teams, as well as with stakeholders.
Grants and Data Management (20%)
- Establish a cultivation process for funder outreach and solicitations, and proactively manage stewardship efforts for a portfolio of 15+ foundations, representing an annual grant cycle of $5M+;
- Master the use of the M²-customized Salesforce fundraising module for all grants management, and oversee data management on it;
- Track grant cycles and donor engagement in an organized and streamlined manner, including coordination of proposal writing, reporting requirements, check-in meetings, and donor cultivation.
This Job Is For You If You:
- Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a development role (grant writing experience is a must);
- Have outstanding English writing capabilities, with experience in foundation grant writing, as well as other writing styles;
- Have excellent English editing skills;
- Have superb skills in crafting messages for a variety of audiences;
- Are thoroughly familiar with the Jewish philanthropic landscape, and have experience working with a wide range of donors, ranging from small, individual funders to large foundations;
- Have a positive attitude and team spirit, with excellent verbal communication skills;
- Can manage multiple projects and priorities while consistently meeting deadlines;
- Can complete projects with exceptional attention to detail and efficiency;
- Are action-oriented and flexible, and are able to work independently as well as to collaborate with colleagues;
- Are familiar with Salesforce;
- Are free to work evening hours, so as to communicate and collaborate with our U.S. offices and funders;
- Can handle confidential matters with integrity.
