The Director of Development will work with the Israeli leadership to engage American Jewish philanthropic funders interested in advancing systematic social change in Israel.

An influential force in Israel’s social sector for close to two decades, Sheatufim solves complex social issues that require bringing together a disparate group of stakeholders. It deftly leads cross-sector efforts for social change by developing the specific tools needed to do so, and empowering others to use them effectively and efficiently. Sheatufim is now interested in growing its network of philanthropists in the US, most particularly in such locations as New York, New Jersey and Florida.
As the Director of Development, You Get To:
- Increase awareness of Sheatufim throughout above locations;
- Be responsible for all fundraising efforts in the above locations;
- Work with the Israel team to execute a comprehensive fundraising and expansion plan;
- Direct solicitations of philanthropic contributions for all aspects of Sheatufim’s work;
- Facilitate major gift opportunities;
- Develop fundraising materials, events, campaigns and initiatives (in collaboration with the Israel team);
- Plan, coordinate and oversee all US-based fundraising activities;
- Support Sheatufim’s leadership with fundraising events by mapping and engaging new potential philanthropists to participate in them;
- Oversee and coordinate legal and accounting partners to ensure administrative compliance, good governance and transparency.
This Job Is For You If You:
- Have prior experience in fundraising, board development, donor cultivation, and grant writing;
- Have at least five years’ experience soliciting six-figure gifts for Israeli organizations in the US;
- Are personable, motivated, and a team player;
- Are an experienced writer and speaker;
- Can multi-task and prioritize, and are a quick learner;
- Are a strategic and nuanced thinker capable of creating innovative ways to effectively engage new donor audiences;
- Are detail-oriented, organized, enthusiastic, and energetic;
- Have a deep understanding of the North American Jewish philanthropic landscape and demonstrated commitment to advancing Israel and the Jewish community;
- Are ethical and able to model high personal and professional standards.
