About Sunrise Israel:
Each year about 450 Israeli children are diagnosed with cancer – a diagnosis that changes their and their families’ lives for ever. Repeated hospitalizations and treatments take their toll on family dynamics; often one parent devotes themselves to caring for their sick child, creating immense financial strains on the family budget; during and between treatments the children become socially isolated while their siblings face considerable emotional challenges of their own.
Sunrise Israel provides qualitative recreational and social responses to these needs – both of the children battling cancer and their siblings – so as to sustain the families through these turbulent times and help the children defeat their illness, and indeed recovery percentages among children are high (85-90%).
