Reporting to the Chief of Sales Strategy for the Jewish Agency for Israel,
the Senior Development Officer will engage philanthropic resources interested in supporting Masa Israel.

The Senior Development Officer for Masa will be responsible for bringing in new philanthropic gifts for Masa, expanding its "champions" in North America and creating additional philanthropic opportunities within The Jewish Agency. Using a range of opportunities (fundraising, social, cultural, educational, and leadership), the successful candidate will develop new and innovative ways to engage and excite both prospects and donors about Masa.
As Senior Development Officer for Masa, You Get To:
- Create and implement the Jewish Agency's FRD strategy for Masa;
- Grow the number of annual donors to Masa via the Jewish Agency;
- Research and approach potential foundations and donors;
- Grow the number of dollars raised annually by the Jewish Agency for Masa;
- Develop and maintain a cohort and pipeline of potential donors, including Masa alumni and parents of alumni;
- Manage, research, and track a diverse portfolio of high-capacity constituents, establishing meaningful relationships with donors and prospects, and exposing them to the vital work of Masa;
- Employ a variety of fundraising techniques, including face-to-face solicitations, fundraising events, and types of internet-based FRD so as to develop and implement appropriate education and fundraising strategies that increase the dollars raised for Masa;
- Join the FRD Senior team as a key contributor to the overall strategy.
This Job Is For You If You:
- Have at least 7 years’ experience soliciting major gifts;
- Are very familiar with the Jewish philanthropic landscape;
- Have prior experience in board development, donor cultivation, and grant writing;
- Have excellent interpersonal and communications skills, meticulous attention to detail and follow-up;
- Are knowledgeable on issues facing the Jewish community;
- Have a passion for Israel;
- Are collaborative and a team player, with the ability to multitask;
- Comfortable working with high-capacity donors and prospects;
- Have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and PowerPoint;
- Can travel to United States frequently;
- Are entrepreneurial and a self-starter who can think creatively and out-of-the-box;
- Have a bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred).
