A unique opportunity for a development professional to lead a major fundraising effort among philanthropic funders and the wider Jewish community, and to grow a mission that is focused on supporting a resilient Israeli community on the border with Gaza.
If you enjoy collaborating with others, and use attention-to-detail to convey a persuasive story, if you are a self-starter, if you can easily find ways to accrue support for an irrepressible Israeli community adjacent to Gaza (with all that that entails), then we are looking for you.
An ability to engage with donors and clearly communicate our compelling mission is key. The successful candidate will develop relationships through face-to-face solicitations, lead fundraising events and assist our Israel-based Head of Development in stewarding lay leadership. This role involves working with board members and building relationships with donors; it also means being our sole representative in the US.
The director of development will set and achieve fundraising goals and maintain knowledge of fundraisers' interests. You will work to enable the Sderot Foundation to meet its current needs, and to plan for growth.
Our ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of six years of development experience. They should also be familiar with CRM nonprofit software, donor databases and other fundraising technology to use in their daily job duties.
