The Director of Development will work with the Israeli and US leadership to engage American Jewish philanthropic funders interested in promoting the vision of "Let My People Know" and making the world of Jewish knowledge accessible to all.

About the Steinsaltz Center
Based in Jerusalem, the Steinsaltz Center is the umbrella organization for the ventures of Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz, overseeing several of the institutions and organizations. In addition, the Steinsaltz Center is engaged in publishing books and developing educational and social initiatives in the fields of Judaism and spirituality.
The Steinsaltz Center is interested in growing its network of philanthropists in the US, most particularly in such locations as New York, New Jersey and Florida.
As the Director of Development, You Get To:
- Be responsible for all fundraising efforts in the above locations;
- Work with the Jerusalem team to execute a comprehensive fundraising and expansion plan;
- Direct solicitations of philanthropic contributions for all aspects of the Steinsaltz Center’s work;
- Facilitate major gift opportunities;
- Develop fundraising materials, events, campaigns and initiatives (in collaboration with the team);
- Plan, coordinate and oversee all fundraising activities;
- Support the Center’s leadership with fundraising events by mapping and engaging new potential philanthropists to participate in them.
This Job Is For You If You:
- Have extensive prior experience in fundraising and donor cultivation;
- Have a deep understanding of the North American Jewish philanthropic landscape;
- Are a strategic and nuanced thinker capable of creating innovative ways to effectively engage donor audiences;
- Are personable, motivated, and a team player;
- Are an experienced writer and speaker;
- Can multi-task and prioritize, and are a quick learner;
- Are detail-oriented, organized, enthusiastic, and energetic.
